Next Meeting

Good evening Ladies!
Cleaning up is always fun to do when there is a bunch of us. Next time: plans are to go to the Transition house on December 16, on a Sunday, for a tour and deliver all the things we gathered for them. So we have until then to get the gifts together from the rest of the church hoping they will help too. We should be able to leave around noon, take a half hour, and perhaps go to the restaurant or shopping or we may have other plans. Will keep you posted. Let us know if you want to go. Contact Jo or myself. Other option is we will have Christmas on that day at the church.
I am glad each of you had fun, I did too. Sometimes our schedules are topsy turvey but as we go along with the flow, it turns out to be great after all. We missed you Ruth, Doloros, Barbara, Salome, Linda and Rebecca. .
Here is little something on what the ladies thought of the weekend in Hope:

The first weekend in October Laura Reimche and Charlotte Smith went to Hope for the Fall Women's Retreat. The theme was for us to Get Ready To Meet Our Heavenly Bridegroom and as soon as we walked in through the door we were met with the most beautiful wedding decorations, flowers and tulle. We were told later that the decorating committee had taken a week to do all of the decorating. Most of the ladies were from the lower mainland, 8 came from McBride. The food was absolutely wonderful and the tables were so beautifully decorated as well. Our main speaker came from LaSierra University and spoke on the Song of Solomon and love. The early morning speaker was local, speaking on the elder brother in the story about the prodigal son. The afternoon speaker was a lady counsellor, she spoke on various types of abuse, we were supposed to break up into small groups following her talk but her talk was so informative that we didn't let her go and kept asking her questions. She was very good. After sundown and during the evening meeting we had a fashion show of old wedding gowns. It turned out to be hilarious, then we could go hot tubbing or play table games or shop abit at the various things offered for sale. I was able to get one of Laurie Trayer's CD's BLESSINGS an instrumental. There was a chocolate fountain running and we had fun dipping our fruit into it for an evening snack, some of the ladies popped popcorn. Laura and I were quite tired so retired early. Sunday after the morning meeting we had brunch and then parted wanting very much to return for the next years retreat. In parting we were given a bank, we are supposed to save towards that end. Next year I hope more ladies will attend, it is well worth the time, travel and money.
